Recipes You Need To Try

 Recipes You Need To Try!

I would suggest checking out any of the following cookbooks from your local library. If you don't see the titles in the stacks, ask a librarian about reserving some of these titles online with your card from a nearby library in their system. It's a great way to try before you buy!

Your  local bookstore probably has most of these available right now. However, to save a little cash, I always check out Half Price Books or Amazon before paying full price. My Barnes and Noble has a used book floor where I pick up many of my cookbooks for LESS than half price.

Personal friends of mine may borrow any of my cookbooks. Just send me an email or let me know what you'd like to check out!

**I have included the ISBN numbers to assist you when researching titles online. You're welcome.

Happy Baking!
Rhonda

All of the following recipes are favorites of mine, however those marked with a * means I use these in a regular rotation. So, they are highly recommended! Also, check out my personal review under the recipe suggestions for each title.

REVIEW: I first heard of this couple when they were guests on The Martha Stewart Show many years ago when she was on daytime tv. I just loved their fun segment and knew I had to have the cookbook. It was only in the last three years that came across a copy for $2 believe it or not at a local thrift shop. I now use it all the time. They have some savory recipes at the end of the book since they run a real bakery, but I have a sweet tooth and stick the to good stuff. I love their recipes and every time I bake something and share it with family or friends I get compliments. Honestly, with this great couple guiding me along the way I don't know how I could end up with anything less than scrumptious! -Rhonda

REVIEW: I found this cookbook and it's partner which I'll list next at a Goodwill in Eau Claire, WI for $1.99 each. So, I have had these on my favorites shelf for over 15 years. Judy is a very detailed, common sense baker and really goes into some personal stories when sharing her recipes. If you can even find these two cookbooks anymore - and I don't know where- maybe online? I'd say grab them! You'll be so happy you did! I use this one as you can see for fabulous fillings and frostings!-Rhonda

REVIEW: This book is packed with cookie and bar ideas to bake. Fudgie Wudgies, Chocolate Peanut Butter Volcanoes, Banana-Nut Chocolate Chunks and the Chocolate Coconut Scoops are my favorites from this collection. We nicknames the Banana Nut Chocolate Chunks as "Chunky Monkeys" in the old days when the boys were home. Half Moons on page 112 are your bakery variety Black and Whites, where one half of a sugar cookie is dipped in thick vanilla frosting and the other half in chocolate. The author has a great personal story with that cookie worth the read! Easy to follow cookbook, like I said earlier--if you can find it anywhere.   -Rhonda

REVIEW: This cookbook, along with it's partner DINNER DOCTOR, I also picked up at a Goodwill store for next to nothing back in Eau Claire, WI. This one however, is a great addition to any cook's shelf who loves to bake and is not afraid to toss in a boxed mix to add to the fun. It's amazing how Anne has added the perfect ingredients to create over 150 wonderfully moist desserts in this book. It is because of this cookbook that I always keep extra cake and pudding mixes in the cupboard! -
